Update of required reporting to Banking Account Register of multiple IBAN codes associated to an account.
As a result of the requirements introduced by the EU Directive 2024/1640 (article 16) on the use of the so-called virtual IBANs and the operations being developed by the various reporting entities, Sepblac, as the institution responsible for receiving the reports of the Banking Account Register (FTF by its acronym in Spanish), sees the need to adapt the procedure for declaring multiple IBAN codes to the FTF in order to enhance how account participants and effective dates are recorded. The final technical development for the declaration of multiple IBAN codes will be implemented in the second quarter of 2025, until then, Sepblac will apply an interim procedure for their timely declaration. This interim procedure can be downloaded from the following link (Spanish only):
Nota declaración IBANes múltiples. Procedimiento transitorio
Finally, please be reminded that the responsibility for the quality, integrity and accuracy of the data declared to the FTF lies with the reporting entities, according to article 51.3 of the Regulation of Law 10/2010, of April 28th.
